    1. run the installer as admin, make sure you grant permissions and or "allow" if prompted by antivirus

    2. install msvbvm50.dll in C:\users\name\ps3tools\ps3tools. I also installed it again in the "tools" folder, and yet again in the bruteforce folder. Or you can download and just run the msvbvm50.exe from MS support page:
    https://support.microsoft.com/EN-US/kb/180071

If the pkg tools entry doesn't appear in your contex menu when right clicking on a pkg file, then proceed to next step:

    3. Go to C:\users\name\ps3tools\ps3tools\tools\registry patches
      *double click on remove_ps3tools_file_associations.reg

*now in the C:\users\name\ps3tools\ps3tools\tools folder find and right click on PKG_ContentID.exe file, select "properties" then the "compatibilities" tab, then at the bottom check the "run as administrator" box, click APPLY then ok.

      * Now double click on PKG_ContentID.exe file, when the window (program) opens, close it and right click on a pkg and see if the pkg tools option is there,

if not...go to next step

     4. change DEP settings by clicking on start button and in search bar typing: Advanced system settings OR by going to control panel, then "system". either way once there, Select "advanced", then "settings" button in the performance section, then DEP tab,

    5. now select "Turn on DEP for all EXCEPT the ones i've selected and add and pkg_ContentID.exe (If you plan to use bruteforce save data, you can add Bruteforcesavedata.exe now that your here. I had to in order to get it working correctly). The PS3Tools folder installs by default in C:\users\name\ps3tools so choose these exceptions from there.

    6. now I opened up pkg_view.exe once and closed it , then I ran pkg_ContentID.exe once and closed it.

If the PKG options still don't appear in context menu then I did the following:

6B . disable UAC in registry by going here:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/4820/how-to-really-completely-disable-uac-on-windows-7/
then run PKG_ContentID.exe as administrator, then close the window.

If you did step 6B, restart the pc. if you see the pkg option in the context menu, you can then go back to 6B and re-enable UAC , restart pc, PKG options should stay in the context menu.
